Thoughts from the Evening News

I’m heart-sick….distraught….forlorn.

As our country grieves the loss of 27 precious blessings, my prayers go up. I cried for about 2 hours when I found out. Cried and prayed; lifted them up to the Prince of Peace….Jehovah Rapha (the Healer)…El Elyon (God most high- the one who knows all and is charge of all).

In my finite mind I can’t make sense of the tragedy that has taken over the news. I can’t rationalize the horrendous act that was committed. I don’t comprehend the horror that took place Sandy Hook Elementary School. I am sickened at the thought of a child not only killing his own mother, but the sweet innocent that weren’t old enough to have done much at all.

My heart is heavy with overwhelming sadness

The entire country mourns the atrocious act and the loss of such precious babies and the adults who tried to save them.

To all who were personally affected this is my promise to you; this is my battle cry against the forces of evil that are at work here:

I will lift up my voice to God for you while you can’t speak to Him. I will intercede on your behalf while you battle the anguish inside of you. I will praise the Mighty Lord for the time you did have with them and thank Him for having each one of them snuggled in His worthy hands. I will pray that your favorite memories don’t ever fail you. I will pray for healing and peace for each and every one of you, even though I don’t know your name. I will grieve with you. You are not alone.

Lord, for every tear I’ve personally shed, bless each affected person tenfold.

Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. (Isaiah 53:4-5)

This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you. (2 Kings 20:5)

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. (Psalm 147:3)
