“I’m going to the dollar store to get some candles just in case we lose power” I said to my husband at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon. I bought them but we didn’t need them, which is good for us. Unfortunately, the storm left a path of destruction for others.
They called it Frankenstorm… Hurricane/Superstorm Sandy…The Perfect Storm. It covered a third of the United States wreaking havoc on the lives of millions.
The schools were closed for 2 days and delayed today because of the threat and the flooding. My son and I played card games as we monitored the weather channel throughout the entirety of Monday. We listened to the pounding wind and watched the trees that were still heavy with leaves shake violently. “I didn’t know cars were supposed to float mom” my son said to me.
It flooded the east coastline; claimed lives; grounded all airline flights; left a crane hanging precariously of a high rise; left millions without power (for who knows how long); friends of mine are removing uprooted trees from their yards, even the 24 hour McDonalds closed for a while on Monday (probably due to the tree laying in the way).
The earth is changing. I believe these are the signs of the end of the age spoken of in the Bible. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains. (see Mark 13:8)
We just had a random earthquake last year in VA. “That never happens” people said. We weren’t the only ones to experience random earthquakes that “never happen”.
God is ramping up to the times when there will be no more hurt, or frustration, or fatigue, or anything else that we humans brought upon ourselves way back in Garden of Eden. He’s coming back to rule this earth the way it was meant to be. It’s not going to get better before then. Labor pains start small and build up. This is just the beginning.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all who have been affected. To all those who lost love ones. To all those who’s houses are under water. To all those who can’t go to work to pay their bills (those don’t cease to exist just because there was a storm). To all those who have to dry off the pieces of their lives before they can be put back together.
God can get the glory and use it for His good. I pray that people will find His love and mercy in their loss……of course, it’s easy for me to say that; I didn’t lose anything.
